To the Native Americans, Amber is a sacred stone, said to represent the east wind of grandfather Sun. In Scandinavia, Amber is believed to be the tears of Freyja, the Viking Goddess of Love and Beauty. Women there used spindles with whorls made of Amber to spin protection into garments for their warrior husbands or sons.
